Let me breakdown this weeks' events for you.
Monday: We called the realtor and told them we want to list within the week or as soon as possible.
*Carpet cleaners returned to clean the carpet AGAIN...another story for another blog.
Tuesday- More cleaning, mini repairs and packing. Exhaustion is setting in big time!
Wednesday-Contractors came and replace fascia boards on the exterior of the home along with a few other minor touch ups.
THURSDAY-THE BIG DAY! February 4, 2021
WE LISTED OUR HOUSE ON THE MARKET FOR SALE!
We had photos scheduled for 2pm. By the afternoon, we had four showing scheduled. By the end of the showings we had positive reviews and one full price offer. WOW!
Friday- We get two requests for showing during our school day so during my 30 minute lunch break we pack up the boys and head to a dear friends house who was kind enough to offer her home to us to escape to in the event this were to happen. I mean the boys are doing virtual school from home and I am teaching 2nd grade from home. We kind of need the home.
We get four showings booked but by 4pm, we get a call that we have an offer. A really good offer. An over asking price plus no extras offers!! It seemed all too good to be true. We were given our options. I called Jared, we discussed. We were both in disbelief. We decided to give it 15 minutes to think it through, process and weigh our options. We had six more showings scheduled.
So in our 15 minute thinking time, I phoned a friend. They told me what I was thinking but honestly, it felt too good to be true. Then Jared called back and we decided to accept the offer. So in 27hours after our house hit the market, it was under contract for over asking price. Simply unbelievable.
We signed all documents and we are well on our way OUT of homeownership of the cutest little starter home we've ever known.
Saturday- We started the day leisurely and almost relieved because it is the first time in about 18 days that we haven't started to day with a "house to-do list" of repairs or packing or cleaning. It was great. After a restful morning, we headed to Coastal RV to see the travel trailer we had been eyeing all week. We wanted Jax to try the bunk on for size before committing to it, I mean we will be living in there for an undetermined amount of time so we want to make sure that everyone is comfortable. Well, as my gut was suspecting, it didn't feel right. It was like Cinderella's step-sister and the glass slipper. We wanted to fit but it was just a bit too small. So we ventured out on our own and saw a few more. They checked off most of our boxes but then we bumped into the sales guy, Rob(awesome by the way), that had helped us last weekend. He had answered our questions for about 2hours last weekend and here he was again, ready to answer some more. We told him our concerns with the one we thought we want and asked to see another one on our list of loves from last weekend, only to find out that it was pending sale. :( I can't say that I wasn't a bit saddened but then he said that a similar one was available that we didn't see last week because it was pending last week but the deal fell through.
It was fantastic. It is a few years old but it has almost everything we wanted.
So here we are, not even a week later from deciding we were going to even list our house, our house is under contract and we have bought our new temporary home.
WHAT. A. WEEK!!
So here's our first home and our new home! We are going to miss 2 Bobs Court so very much but adventure awaits! We can't wait to see where we end up.
